...t I went to a diner one morning to get breakfast on my way to work. I had not been in one before, so it was a brand new experience. At that time, I did not speak English as well as I do now; however, I managed to order a cup of coffee, and a ham and cheese sandwich. Fortunately, everything worked out for me that morning. I ate my breakfast, and I learned how to order in a diner. That morning, I learned that breakfast is an important meal for Americans. Another experience that taught me about American culture was becoming friends with Marty. All of my life I have been surrounded by people, so meeting people was not new for me. However, communicating with them was quite hard until I met my best friend Marty, who is an American. By talking to him and listening to him, I have learned many things about American culture. For example, I have learned such expressions as “What’s up,” “How you doing,” and many other expressions. It helps me out with my classes at college, at my job, and in my personal life. A third experience that has taught me about American culture is working at Costco. I was hired at Costco as a forklift driver not long ago.
