...anyon Youth Detention Center by Las Vegas. He goes there and only has six weeks left in his sentence when he finds out that his name is on the cigarettes. This means that one of the guards is offering probably two or three seventeen year olds some cigarettes to beat him within an inch of his life. He escapes that night. He runs to the interstate and gets in a truck with a man. The man takes him until he hears about the escape of a boy from the detention center. The man didn’t want to take any chances by taking Rick any farther, so he drops him off at a gas station. He then sees another truck pull up with a topper. He gets in the topper of the truck with no one seeing him. He rides in the back of this truck to Canyonlands National Park. This is where he is for the remainder of the story. He stays with Lon Peregrino at this park and helps him with reintroducing some condors to the wild. Then later in the book Rick decides to go back to the judge and face his punishment for escaping from the detention center. The main character is Rick Walker. He has a nice a caring personality. He is tall with dark long hair. The next character is Lon Peregrino. He is the person that Rick stays with at Canyonlands National Park with. He is old and has a beard; he has a nice ...
