Video Game

...y the more fun the have doing it all. I believe that violent video games do not effect what people do in their lives, it is more relied on the way they were brought up. It’s like the quote, “Guns don’t kill people; people kill people.” The video games or even music or movies of that sort are just used as an easy excuse. Kids today need someone else to blame, no one ever likes to admit they were wrong. Just because people see it and do it in the games it’s just a game. There are laws against killing and even fighting so it’s mainly up to the parents to teach their kids right from wrong. Saying a violent video game would make someone kill is like saying a skateboarding game would make someone start skateboarding. Or how many times have you heard an officer get an excuse that they run from the cops in games so they thought it was ok in real life? I haven’t heard of anyone jumping a draw bridge in their cars because they do it in games. A disliked game is like a disliked movie you don’t like it then don’t watch it. There are warnings and age restrictions on every game. All games are rated so the parents know approximately what kind of content is in the game. Also explanations of these warnings can be looked up online, read about, or told through a support line for any game. Rated ‘T’ is for teen. Teen rated games are mainly sports, action, and violence with little or no gore. Obviously it is focused on the teen age group, but some adults and children like the games too. There are also rated ‘M’ and ‘A’ games too. ‘M’ is for mature, or mature audiences only. ‘A’ is for adult, which has adult content and is not meant for kids. ‘M’ and ‘A’ are not too much different, they both focus on adults and late teens, but adult rated games sometimes are just extremely gory or contain some nudity. Video games, even violent ones, are proven to enhance the brain and make the person smarter all around. Games put you in real life situations that you have to figure out along the way. Not only may you come across these situations later in life, but it enhances your critical thinking and problem solving techniques. There are also many games that give you small puzzles to solve, even some all around puzzle games. In Super Mario 64 there are many stages you have to go through with little puzzles, from sliding blocks to make a picture to little mazes even to testing you eyes by the little cup trick. There is a game called Myst to where the whole game is a puzzle. There are more difficult puzzles in that game such as matching notes from a piano to a keypad to open a lock. There are even some things as translating some different types of pictures into different phrases. Video games such as these, kids games, violent games, and family games have all been proven to increase your intelligence. One of my friends’ seven year old ...
