As it is stated in this speech of King, he always opposes to use force and solve the segregation problem by violence. This kind of basic approach enables him to be one of the unforgettable and great leaders of the American civil rights movement of all times. Another difference between these two leaders is their point of view to life. Although their goal is the same, their perspective is completely dissimilar. Malcolm X’s visual angle to life is pessimistic and provocative. This can be best exemplified with these speeches from Malcolm X: “ If someone puts his hands on you, send him to the cemetery!“ (Www.quationspage.com/special.php3?file=w980517), “ I don’t see any American dream; I see an American nightmare “ (The Ballot or the Bullet). These lines highlight violence and hate. These speeches can easily drag people to be aggressive and hopeless and drive them to despair. However, a leader’s mission should not be like this. A good leader should initiate hopeful, optimistic and calm attitudes. Martin Luther King’s visual angle helps people to be hopeful and think positively. His name reminds people his famous speech which is full of optimism and hope: “ I have a dream “( I Have a Dream). These four words are so effective that attract thousands of people, even white people, to join his movement and support him. These words convince thousands of people to believe in justice, equality between white and black people. The root of racism problems is based on separating people. Nevertheless, Malcolm X selects to discriminate black and white people instead of integrating them. He blames whites for all of the black problems. However the fact is that they were both, white and black people, invisible pieces of a whole. Although the reality is that, he provokes blacks against whites: “The common enemy is the white man” (Www.quationspage.com/special.php3? file=w980517). In this quotation, the point of view to white people of Malcolm can be seen. He sees them like evil and believes in whatever necessary to accomplish the goal is applicable. This means a black can do everything he wants in order to attain equality, even kill “enemy” white people. He encourages people to commit crimes by making this kind of speeches. . For instance, a black person can get his rifle and shoot whites. That is to say, what Malcolm alleges can cause a battle between whites and blacks while trying to solve the problem. A desirable leader should not announce this kind of speeches and encourage people to commit offences. A desirable leader should not name his speech “The Ballot or The Bullet”. However when Luther King’s ideas, thoughts and speeches are considered, differences between Malcolm and King’s approaches to white people can obviously be seen. At first, King never sees whites as their “enemies”. He always believes in brotherhood of all people. The best proof is the white people who marched with blacks in his demonstrations. He always considers whites as important as blacks, since the only thing he wants is equality, justice for all people. For example, he always uses “symphony of brotherhood”, “all God’s children”(I Have a Dream). These words show how much King believes in equality of all people.
