.... It was about five o’clock when we finally left his house and set off to find Rachel; David’s mom had told us that Rachel was down the street. We found her and set out for our three hours of nonstop candy grabbing and candy eating. At about seven o’clock we were about to head in when we came upon this house that looked like a good place to end our night of trick or treating. It had big tall trees, the ones you would see in the red woods of northern California. There was a dark red pick up truck parked in the left side of the yard that looked to be some sort of decoration to go with all of the spooky bones and broken up pieces of junk that laid in the yard. There was a white trellis that leads the way up the brick path to the front door. Rachel had already gone to this house with her other friends before I found her, so she told us that she would wait there at the curb until we got back. As David and I approached the house cautiously trying not to step on anything that laid on the brick path, we could here Halloween music playing from inside the open window of the house. When we finally reached the big white door of the house, I noticed a black grill that was sitting next to the door with a white bed sheet covering it. David rang the door bell and after a few seconds, a kid that appeared to be sixteen or seventeen opened the door; he had on just regular casual clothes and held out a big yellow bowl filled with Hershey’s chocolate bars and starbursts packages. He said “take three”; and we replied “thank you” and started to leave when he said “be careful, I think there might be some one out there with a chainsaw that’s been going around this area killing people”. I said “all right we will”, and when I was just about ready to start walking down the brick path, the roaring noise of a chainsaw started up behind me; I turned around and saw a person with a bright white hockey mask and a blaring chainsaw charging at me from under the grill.
