...er why she thinks we are Muslims. The lady stared at me and said, "because of you guys, our people are dead." I could see anger in her eyes. I told her we were born in the Fiji Islands and our race is Hindu. We’re a peaceful loving culture who believes in all good things—death and war is furthest from our minds. I sympathized with her that I am also an American. Even though I am born Hindu, my home is America. I am sorry for what happen in New York and I never wished this on anyone. Oddly enough she got up and left the restaurant. I think she had a right to be angry though. I am sure after she heard us conversing in Hindi it seemed liked we were Muslims to her. Regardless, I don’t think she should have stereotyped us. Surely there are Japanese people who believe in Hinduism and American people who believe in the “Kuran.” This doesn’t make them bad people.
