An Old Friend

...truck for his 30 minute drive to the woods. When he get there he loads his gun and heads for his deer stand. Always around 5:00. He waits and waits then he saw it a deer his first in four years, but what the deer doing all by it self. The little thing in the woods all alone with no mother to nurse from maybe the little fawn wondered away from mother or maybe the mother abanded it. Randy was puzzled has he watches the little thing for hours, but he wouldn’t pull the trigger on something so small. It was like the deer knew he was to small for any hunter to even pull his sights up at him. The little deer just stayed there until Randy got up out of his stand to head home. As Randy heads to the truck the little Fawn follows him the whole way back to the truck. As the fawn looking at Randy. Randy noticed out of the corner of his there was some deer corn laying in the back of his truck. Randy with his heart of gold got out of his truck and got the deer corn for the little fawn and he poured the hole bag out for the poor little spotted faw, and wondered out was in store for the fawn in the future. Later that deer season Randy shot his first deer in four years, it was a quiet small deer with little nubs has its horns. The rest of that hole deer season he didn’t see that little fawn. So Randy assumed that the fawn had been killed by a coyote or something like that, but the last day of deer season. Randy saw the fawn once again. The little fawn still with its spots waited and wondered around Randy’s stand until he got out to head to his truck. Once again the fawn followed Randy all the way back to the truck, and there Randy gave the fawn another whole bag of deer corn. One year later during deer season Randy saw a deer, and it was very small and it looked like a yearling. So Randy waited and waited hoping for a bigger deer to walk by, but no other deer. As it was hitting dark Randy pulled him self up out of his stand. He couldn’t shot deer, because the deer was a spike and his horns were to long which made it an illegal deer.
