Men are more prone to drinking, drug use, smoking, adultery, and a lot of other sins that come with taking risk. Men are more irresponsible, short-sighted, carefree, and risk-taking. Some people would believe that because of these things that would make women more religious, but just because men are more risk-taking does not mean that they aren’t as religious as women. The second reason people assume women are more religious than men is the difference in gender roles. A woman is known as the caretaker and mother, which makes them more submissive in society and at home, which in turn leads people to believe they are more submissive and devoted in their religion. These roles would lead a person to believe a woman would be more religious but not all women follow these roles, especially in today’s society. Even if all women followed these roles there is no way a person can prove a woman is more submissive and devoted when it comes to their beliefs or religion. The third reason people believe women are more religious than men, is because of there denied social and economic power. Women are not seen as leaders in society, therefore they are prone to be more submissive in society, which makes people believe they are more submissive in their religious beliefs. The more submissive a person is the more devoted they seem to doing there job in an honorable manner. This is a point that is actually fading away in today’s world because women are becoming more powerful socially and economically. Women now have all the rights of men and lots of women work where in the past most of them stayed at home where they maintained there roles as caretakers and mothers.
