...port it receives, although this common interest may not be the overall best decision for the minority. I also feel that his plan for checks and balances was great because it reduces the chance of domination in politics by any strong group domination. In some cases people would believe that these interest group politics are also non-serviceable to the community. Although this is something that Truman would disagree with. In Truman’s opinion on interest groups in the world he believes that they are only going to happen, they will never harm the society, and they would help because they bring a sense of democracy. When analyzing the interest groups I believe that they give the public a collective voice, but I feel like democracy is something that would not be if there weren’t any checks and balances which limit anarchy. In my opinion Truman is correct because there is no fix in permanent interest because what in today could be out in a matter of time. Even though these interest groups are sometimes in the best common entrance of the public many have various reasons for their involvement. The whole organization if interest groups are even more complex. Which is why when we talk about joining interest group the idea term of free rider comes about which Olsen addresses in the readings? The main to group formation is selective benefits, which cause people to join and support. For example if you were to join a group you probably would spend time and valuable effort in your group’s goal and agenda. The reason why is because you have threat as motivation, sponsors and technological opportunities. These things can only make these groups larger; if a person is threatened they will do whatever they have to in order to feel safe. Many of these groups that we talk about in class have a part in representation and political influences in order to get their group interest and their candidate picked. An example would be the NRA which is the national rifle association which didn’t want former president Clinton to win election because he didn’t support the second amendment. They a...
