Russia has recently been engaged in a protracted war with the republic of Chechnya, where terrorists have carried several attacks in recent years. In Washington a senior State Department official said, ''We are obviously concerned by the news, we’re following developments closely and trying to determine the facts.'' First of all, it is very heat breaking to here about another possible terrorist attack, especially by plane. If this incident does play out to be terrorist related, which it seems will, it scares me think that the airline transportation is one of the top tools among terrorist to exploit. This attack follows the 9/11 attacks three years ago. I wonder how this will affect the American Airline Industry? Why is it still possible for terrorist to effectively infiltrate the Airline Industry, and when will this come to a halt? It is of my opinion that the Global Community is still not protected under the Airline Industry. It’s not just the United States Airports, Russian Airports, or any other airport in this world. I believe the Global Community must come together in order to fully enhance the safety of public transportation. I would suggest that the Global Community should create an International Governmental Organization responsible for the intelligence, safety, and protection of all airports world-wide.
