Crickets

...kept jumping through the tiniest opening in my hands every time I thought I had it. That's when a guy said, "That one must be a male, it's running away from you." He was just playing, but he had an excellent point. Sometimes I try too hard to capture what I find interesting. It is difficult having to deal with all the risks and disappointments, so usually I resign to being helpless as what I strive for slips through my fingers. This time when I went to catch the cricket I quit trying so hard. I opened my fingers, placed it in front of the cricket, and it leaped right into my hand. Not that I wanted control of the poor helpless creature, I just thought it would be better with me, before it was abandoned in the room and left to die, or was trampled underfoot by someone who wasn't paying attention, or worse, was trying to hurt it. I always strive so hard to gain what I want. Maybe that isn't the answer to everything. Some things in life, I simply need to allow just to come to me. I’m not saying ...
