caring for elderly parents
...this woman has managed to keep her insanity is beyond me. The cost has also got to be back breaking. Reading “The Life and Times of an ‘Extreme Mom’” also makes me feel like I should be extremely careful when raising my future children, not only because I want them to turn out to be accomplished human beings but because I may some day need them to care for me like I cared for them as children. It must feel embarrassing to need for your own daughter to look after you because you can no longer perform the functions you were once capable of your entire adult life. There must also be a feeling of guilt associated with relying on you kids. I also wonder how the spouse feels about having to care for a parent that is not there own.
