...ning but my dad’s capability, honesty and hard work paid off and raised the family status to middle class. My dad brought home the money while mom took care of the households and taking care of children. Babysitting was never required so their was a special bond between the children and the parent. My dad was always there and had enough time to share with us. We always felt secured. They always interacted with us and trained and provided information for the behavior they found acceptable and served as an important model for our attitudes, beliefs and action. They always taught us to respect and share our toys with our peers and be friendly and win people’s heart. My mother was always there to check our behavior and occasionally spanked us when our behavior were undesirable to her. The occasional spanking did not have a long lasting negative effect. But it develop fear on us and helped us not to commit the unacceptable act again. My dad would never spank us but that didn’t make us behave in an unacceptable way. If we did anything annoying he would discipline us through reasoning. We did fear him because we knew the consequences if we really made him mad. My family being Buddhist and being religious helped them to be less aggressive towards us. In our culture son are given more value and better education than daughter. So me being the son had an upper hand in getting educated in a better school. My sister had good education as well as had to help my mother with house chores. But my parents never made her feel inferior by giving equal time, love and warmth. They gave us clear guidelines for behavior which helped us to sort out this social world much easier. Education was important in our family cause my parent were unfortunate not to receive education. So we were sent to a good school which was famous for education as well as discipline and value. My mother was always their to see that we see television only after finishing our homework. They even hired tutor to help us understand and perform well in class. We even received rewards for performing well in our test which further motivated us to work hard and do much better in the hope of getting rewards. My mother di...
