Can we overcome sin?

In the following verse (Verse 16) He says that He will send us a comforter, the Holy Spirit, who will guide us in our daily walk with Him. This comforter, who is one with Christ, gives us the power to overcome sin. The only way we can be triumphant is if we have Christ in us. There is a promise in 1 John 4:4 which should inspire us all. It says “Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is He that is in you, than He that is in the world.” God says here that we can overcome. Now the reason why we can overcome is because “greater is Jesus” that is in us, than Satan’s wave of temptations. The apostle Paul’s says that Christ in us is the hope of any glory or of any victory. Christ gives us the power to overcome sin. His perfect life here on earth serves as an example to us that God’s law can and should be kept. The Bible says in Revelation 12:11 God tells us that the only way to overcome sin is by the blood of the lamb. The blood of the lamb represents Christ’s sacrifice on the cross. Because He died on the cross and was victorious we can also be victorious. Through Christ, overcoming sin becomes a possibility. The Bible declares in Philippians 4:13 “I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me.” This means that we can even overcome sin. This should be enough confirmation for all of us. The...
