Looking at the big picture, one would say that the punishments listed above would be for the people who get misdemeanors minor tickets. Now I do strongly believe that a person who gets picked up for anything that has to do with intoxication and alcohol should have the book thrown at him/her, just because of the risk of endangering other people. Mathew Frederick asked the question of being interested as in how we can rehabilitate these prisoners who are in prison but do not have a life sentence. The only way to do this would be to have the prisoners doing productive activities that would help their minds set on doing the right thing, for instance, personal enrichment classes. I believe that we need both more jails and better ways to keep people from going to jails. If we get more jail, taxes will go up, I do not think that anyone is a fan of that happening, so we need to figure out a way to lower the crime. Certainly, if they know the consequence for murder, but it doesn't stop those who are going to do it from doing it”. I totally disagree here, a person knows that if they kill someone that they will be executed; I believe that the cases of murder in those states will and have gone down. It is the same principal that if people are carrying guns, the robbery rate will go down. To a normal person, knowing the consequences for something that one will do wrong, that person will not do wrong. This is a virtue that goes back to when we were kids and that we enforce on our children today. The only change is that the consequences get bigger as you get older.
