They believed that the Scottish were an inferior race, and even went as far as some of the nobles demanding a night with newly wedded women. In the medieval time period, the stories of heroes were spread by word of mouth. When William Wallace showed up to the battlefield, some people did not believe he was actually himself because they had heard that he was seven feet tall and could shoot fireballs out of his eyeballs.
