Father and son

...a “civilized divorce”, where the two of them can speak with each other and be friends. Through Stephen’s letters, I realize that he has a very anxious relationship to his father. He is apologising to him in all of his letters, and is trying to make up for what he has done wrong. In the first letter that he writes to his father, he is telling him about how many money he has saved on his trip to the airport, an on coming to late for the opening of the school. He seems proud to be able to tell his father how much he has saved, but I think that he is just trying to make up, for what he is saying in the last part of his letter. Here he appears to be angry...
