...e is imagining being a male instead of being a powerful woman. Mollie’s limited perspective doesn’t let her to have her own” dreams, ambitions”, the limited view doesn’t let her to be powerful without owning money, without having a strong body ,without being a “man”. She imagines her husband degrading women. Mollie’s boundaries are not letting her to actually emphasize with Gerald though. As the women can’t get out of the typical roles, what she isn’t bearing in her mind is it is the same situation for men. She is criticizing Gerald in a superficial way ,by not even considering that he can be more than the way he is acting.
