The harms that can come with this problem is physiologically damaged children. If children watch violence when there young there more likely to commit crimes when there adults. If we don’t start rating television programs the violence that our children are viewing can only get worse. If we ignore our youth and let them view violent television our problems have just begun. For example, Ekman and his associates found that those children whose facial expressions, while viewing television violence depicted the positive emotions of happiness, pleasure, interest or involvement were more likely to hurt another child than were those children whose facial expression indicated distressed or displeasure. TV Parental Guidelines Our youths television options are increasing with a new number of TV channels and programs coming into our homes everyday. That’s why the television industry designed a TV appropriateness of TV programs. These rating called the TV Parental Guidelines, are modeled after the familiar movie ratings which be around for the past 30 years.
