...ry line of this poem. Line one gives the reader a visual of an eagle with his claws dug into the mountain side. In line two, the reader is able to picture an eagle off in the sun alone. Line three says “azure world” (3), which stands for a bluish world, which allows the reader to image an eagle flying solo over the seas. In line four there is a little bit more imagery. With the “wrinkled sea beneath he crawl” (4), the reader is allowed to possibly hear, see, smell, and taste the salt from the sea. In line five it is easy to visualize the eagle all alone on top of the mountain. Then in line six, the last line, the reader is able to get a beautiful visual of an eagle souring down from his mountain tops. In this poem there are two stanzas. Each stanza has there’re own alliteration, focusing one the last word of each line: hands, lands, stands and crawls, walls, falls. There is no other sound element in poem such as assonance and onomatopoeia. There is also no use of diction in Tennyson’s poem. There is however figurative language in his poem, to some.
