Open Campus Lunch Policy
...hours of the day, therefore boosting the towns economy. Not only would the town would benefit from the open campus lunch policy, but the students would as well. This would give them a much bigger and better variety of food to choose from. Face it, some kids don’t even like the school food, and therefore they don’t eat lunch. If we had open campus, they would get the nutrition they need as well as something they enjoy. This would also help the overcrowding in our cafeteria. “A” Lunch on Black days is entirely full. Sometimes there is not even enough chairs for students to sit in. This could eventually lead to arguments over chairs. If we got to leave school for lunch, this would open up space in the cafeteria for the students who do not leave the building, and save any future arguments over chairs. Although I strongly support this idea, I can see where there could be some complaints. On the teacher/administrator side of the issue, they could see this as a potential way for students to skip school more often. Honestly, this would more than likely happen because when you give people certain privileges, they tend to abuse them. Even though you might not accept my proposal for open campus lunch because of the reason of skipping school, this isn’t fair to all students. What about the students who go to school every day and have never skipped? Is this fair to them? No, it is not fair to them in any way, shape or form. They should not be punished because some students don’t like to obey certain rules. It wouldn’t be right to hold them accountable for something they have had no part in.
