The guy’s wore short shorts with white trim, a common style for the time. The golf equipment also tells about the time. The clubs they use are wooden; the cars are all from that time period as well. However, there are also some futuristic additions. Al Czervik has a putter that electronically lines up his putt. He also has a miniature TV and a car stereo equipped in his bag. IV. Summary This slapstick comedy is about a kid, Danny, who is caddying at a high price country club. He lives in a rather poor family that can’t afford to send him to college. He needs the Caddy Scholarship given by the club to one exceptional caddy and student. He begins to schmooze the club owner, Judge Smails. The judge begins to like him, but the judge is having problems of his own. A gopher, Assistant Greens keeper Carl can’t kill, is destroying the course. In Carl’s attempts to eliminate the gopher, he causes Judge Smails more headaches by destroying parts of the course and disturbing the members. Smails also has to deal with Al Czervik that seems to live for causing as much trouble as possible, especially if it has something to do with Judge Smails. Al Czervik makes a bet with Judge Smails for $20,000 on 18 holes of golf. Czervik then makes it a team match him and Ty Webb against Judge Smails and the doctor. Ty tries to avoid getting involved, but after the Judge’s attempted bribe, he jumps on Al’s side and doubles the bet. When the match roles around each of them picked their caddy and to Ty’s disappointment, Danny had already been selected by Judge Smails to caddy for him. At the end of nine holes, the Judge and Doctor are ahead of Al and Ty. The Smails’ team wants to double the bet yet again, and to Ty’s disgust, Al accepts without hesitation. Al regrets his decision immediately and pretends to get hurt when his ball bounces back and hits him. Al and Ty chose Danny to take his place. On the last hole, Danny is the last one left to putt. If he makes it, he and Ty win. Then right before Danny putts, Al doubles the bet. So now, him missing could cost $80,000 for both Al and Ty. Finally, when he gets to putt he ends up leaving it short of the hole, but hope is not lost because Carl the Assistant Greens Keeper, sets off dynamite in every one of the gopher holes around the course. The explosions knock Danny’s ball into the hole, winning the match for his team. V. Conflicts The most dominant conflict was man against man. The main man vs. man conflict was Al against the Judge. They battled it out through out the entire movie. They wrangled with any thing from words to their golf games. There was also Danny vs. the Judge. Danny, as much as he pretended to like him, it was just a ruse. It came through in the end when he accepted to play with Ty against the Judge and lose all hopes for getting that scholars...
