This picture consists of short painted strokes to create water with waves coming and going. The color chosen were a good choice as there is not too much strong color and little white and red and so on, every warm color are blended well. These color are expressing well about the atmosphere of the time of this day which seems like a evening. According to an explanation of this painting at museum, actually there are five more similar paintings of Doge's palace included in the show. In this painting, I felt that Also he demonstrated that light could be shown by juxtaposing bright, contrasting colors, rather than by shading with intermediary tones. He paints the picture with a lot of warm color and is very bright and vibrant. He likes to capture his images without detail but with bold colors. He painted this painting done at the moment times of the day and in specific seasons. From this painting, seems like he was interested in subtle changes in the atmosphere.
