Euthanasia should be a Right!
...atural causes in cases of terminal illness or irreversible coma. Also, it means Good- Death. There are many forms of euthanasia such as, Passive, Active, Involuntary, and Physician Assisted. Each one consists of a different form of Euthanasia and the circumstance for which it is preformed. Passive Euthanasia is the hastening the deaths of a person by altering some form of support and letting nature take its course. Active Euthanasia is when the patient requests to die. Involuntary Euthanasia is when the patient is never going to regain consciousness and a decision is made to put them to death by Davis2 family with the advice and aid of the physician. Physician Assisted Euthanasia is when the doctor gives the patients sleeping pills or carbon monoxide to end their pain. What really brought this to public attention was by a man named Dr. Jack Kevorkian. He supported Physician Assisted Euthanasia for many years and has even taken it as far as to perform it on his own patients. For carrying out Euthanasia he was tried and convicted of murder in the 2nd degree and is serving 10 to 25 years for his crime. Euthanasia is illegal throughout the United States except for Oregon. In Oregon Physician Assisted Euthanasia is allowed. This law is called The Death with Dignity Law and was passed into law in 1994. The law states that an adult who is capable, is a resident of Oregon and has been determined by the attending physician and consulting physician to be suffering form a terminal disease, and who has voluntarily expressed his or her wish to die, may make a written request for medication for the purpose of ending his or her life in a humane and dignifies manner in accordance with Oregon’s law. When it comes to the making the laws, Church is supposed to be separate from State. However, it seems all laws are based on the togetherness of the two. Emotions are involved when it comes to making laws and Euthanasia is no exception. If anything I think this law was made and influenced by both of these factors.
