Friendship
...did not used to, but now, we talk about things that happen in my life. For instance, when I was in high school, I got into a huge fight with someone who I considered as my best friend. She betrayed me, and she talked behind my back about how stupid I was because I helped her in a financial way when she needed it. Then my father said, “Don’t be mad at her, but only feel sorry for her because she will never have any friend like me and know what friendship really means.” He actually helped me to get rid of my sadness. Also, since my mother and I are the same gender, we talk about boys a lot. I once told my mother that when I like a boy, I sacrifice myself for the boy and give them everything I have. Then, my mother said, “You shouldn’t follow them and do everything that they tell you to, but you have to make them follow you and love you the way you are.” And she told me to be confident about myself, and then I will see the world differently. When I was little, I had this dream that a dragon somehow kidnapped me, and my brother fought with the dragon to rescue me. It was the best dream I ever had in my childhood. I talked about my problems with my parents and friends. When I did not have enough self-esteem about myself, he always said, “You have a best friend who always cares for and loves you, what else do you need? You know how to love your friends, and have enough passion to put yourself into the things you like. You should be proud of yourself instead of trying to change yourself.” His saying this moved me deeply, and I was thankful to God for sending me a friend like Sanghyuck. I believe that I will never meet another friend like him again for the rest of my life. Are family and best friend the only reasons why I like my home? No, but the life style I had in Korea is also the reason why I like my hometown. My hometown, Seoul, is the capital of Korea, and contains many shopping places, restaurants, cultural inheritances, and different kinds of transportations. Whenever my friends and I get bored, we go to street shops, Karaoke, bar, or PC room by buses, taxis, or subways. The Turbo karaoke is the best karaoke place that we go to. We only pay ten dollars to get a room and spend three or four hours singing. After hours of singing, we all get husky voices and sound really funny. Shopping is one other thing I always do with my friends. Every mall in Korea contains seven or eight floors, and they are all divided by categories; men, women collection, shoe...
