Communicating with ghosts

...ose as we can get to talk with them. The many visions I have read about, book after book, makes communicating with the dead so much more factual to me, and the ones that already do believe. There are many people that have heard of the Ouija game board, which is used to communicate with the dead by using the individual’s in the groups’ spiritual energy. Many people don’t believe in it because they say it could easily be taken as a joke since all one would have to do is just push the glass plate to the correct answer. Yes, this could all be a joke if it wasn’t believe played seriously and it was being used by a bunch of sixth graders who don’t understand the whole point of the game. If there was a group of people who believed in it then the game may work. My family and I put the game to the test to prove that it actually and truly works. My father passed away February 2002, so we (my family) wanted to see if we could talk to my dad. First off, we started by sitting in a circle with the board on all of our knees. My mother did the talking and she asked if there was anyone there who wanted to talk to us. When the board said yes my mother than asked who, and the board then spelled out Fuzz, which was my father’s nickname. She then asked my father if he had a message for one of the kids, and the board quickly spelled out Lori. I was suddenly frightened, so I took my hands off of the game. My mother then asked ‘can you please spell out the message?’ Slowly but surely the piece moved from letter to letter and in the end spelled out ‘La La Boo Boo Ding Ding’. I was so surprised because this message was a secret that dad and I shared when I was young. No one but us knew about this; therefore, my mom, brother or sister could have not intentionally spelled that sentence out! They had no clue what was going on. After the fact, I told them what everything meant and they were just as surprised as I was. I know many people still are going to have a difficult time believing this, unless they actually try it. But now I am even more convinced that this game works. There is no one that can tell me that it is just ‘hocus pocus’ because they obviously have not lost someone close to them that have felt the desire or need to communicate with them. Besides the people that don’t believe in the Ouija game there are others that don’t believe in visits from the dying or even spirit visitations. Skeptics say “such cases are only the by-product of dream material, overactive imaginations, or the result of emotional exhaustion of having a family member who is dying” (Brandon 230). Although I did not experience this personally my grandmother, who was dying at the time, did. We home hospiced my grandmother her last few weeks on this earth. About a week and a half before she passed, my mother and I were sleeping in my grandmother’s room. Early in the morning all of a sudden my grandmother popped up and was talking to someone in the doorway. When I looked up I saw absolutely nothing there; therefore, I woke my mother up and she couldn’t see anything either. We waited a few minutes, both got up out of bed, and turned on the lights. I asked my grandmother whom she was talking to and she replied to me that it was her guardian angel coming to take her away. My grandma then to me that she told her angel that she wasn’t ready yet and told her angel to come back in a few weeks. Yeah, my mother and I, both kind of chuckled because we knew she was on a ton of medications at the time. Two weeks later, while I was in school my grandmother called me and said that the angel was on her way back to get her so she wanted to say her good bye’s. My father came to school and picked me up from school with tears in his eyes and at that very moment I knew that grandma was gone. I thought that it was so weird that my grandma knew it was her time. My grandma was not the only one who received a visit, “there are numerous reports of dying the living before making a final departure” (Brandon 228). Was this really a good-bye experience or was it that my grandma couldn’t think straight? I believe that she was all there in mind, body, and soul. There are rea...
