The Influence of Violence on Teens in Movies and Music
.... If there is nothing wrong with hurting someone on a video game then they might retaliate to an insult in the same manner as they did in the video game. When teenagers watch violent movies that get ideas into their heads about what they might can do to hurt someone that has hurt them. If you look back thirty years ago when teenagers didn’t listen to hateful music or play violent video games there would be a substantially lower amount of teenage violence. When you don’t have a negative influence then you don’t tend to think negatively. When you don’t watch violence all day then you don’t think about acting violently. An argument may be that everyone knows the difference from right and wrong so therefore music and movies does not play a role in the final decision a person makes in committing an act of violence, but if teenagers didn’t see the violence on a day to day basis then they wouldn’t have the ideas of acting upon their aggressions. Music tends to influence violence because teenagers hear of settling their differences by just simply hurting the person that is causing them pain. Movies illustrate the violence to the teenagers, and video games let them take part in committing the violence.
