Cloning

...eing. We have had success with different animals, I see no harm in trying to clone a human. There are a few claims right now in Europe and Asia that scientists have successfully cloned human beings. The first announced birth of a ‘human clone’ was on December 26th, 2002. Her name was Eve and she was born by caesarean section after being created by Clonaid. Clonaid also announced a second birth to a Dutch couple in January of 2003 and a third to a Japanese couple who cloned their son that died in an accident. All of the babies are supposedly very healthy but there have been no verification that these babies really do exists, which doubts increased each day. Clonaid is an organization registered in the Bahamas, they might have a possible location in Nevada, and was founded by the Raelian Movement which has more than 50,000 members in 85 different countries. Brigitte Boiselier, a 44 year old French biochemist, speaks on behalf of Clonaid. http://www.clonaid.com/news.php There are many problems that can occur with cloning a human being that have occurred in animals that scientists have cloned, but many people don’t know about. Many deformities can occur in a baby, and death can easily happen if the cloning process is mishandled improperly. With human cloning there’s the possibility that a human ‘monster’ can occur where the baby become completely malformed that they are destroyed in the womb, aborted, or they die as the result of a premature birth. There are worries that a cloned child might age prematurely and die young, which is what happened to Dolly the sheep, the first cloned animal. Not only can physical problems occur, but there are many emotional problems that can happen if there is a successfully cloned human. For example if a man’s wife dies and he wants her cloned, he will be seeing his wife grow up through her child-hood years, and this was once the person he loved and had a relationship with. Or what if the child is a twin of someone who died? How would he/she feel? The cloned child would not be exactly the same because it would be growing up in a household that has not accepted the death of their original child, instead choosing to clone the exact replica of their child. This will cause the cloned child to grow up in a different situation than the original child grew up in. It sounds confusing but it’s true. In order for the cloned child to grow up completely like the original child, the clone would have to have the same exact lifestyle, same influences from important people in their life, and they would have to be put in exact situations that the original child was in. Doing all of that is highly impossible, therefor the child would grow up differently. Another view of human cloning is it’s militaristic use...
