The Surprise Twister
...le turned into pouring rain. People ran for shelter as they heard the first crash of thunder. Lightning zapped across the dark, gloomy sky. Then, the rain suddenly ceased. Everything became eerily silent. The pale gray clouds turned to a nasty shade of green and started to swirl. The citizens of Phoenix emerged from their shelters, thinking the storm had passed, but they soon found their thoughts to be incorrect. The swirling clouds became funnel shaped, moving closer and closer to the tranquil earth. Then, the tornado touched down. People screamed bloody murder as the twister sucked them up into its unforgiving wrath. It continued along its twisted course, devouring buildings, animals, people, trees, and everything else in its path. The twister slowly began to wane.
