The attacks on the World Trade Center on September 11th were the beginning of the aggressive foreign policy of President George W. Bush and his administration. This policy completely changed the political structure of Iraq and Afghanistan and had huge consequences for the people of those countries. After September 11th Bush and his administration started the “war on terrorism”. His decision to attack Iraq in 2003 and his foreign policy in general has made Bush very unpopular in many nations across the world.[2] Nevertheless most Americans continue to believe that Bush is a stronger leader than his opponent and will do a better job in fighting terrorism and rebuilding Iraq.[3] Now Bush must find a clear plan for rebuilding Iraq as many people critisize the war and its supporters start to shrink. At the beginning of october 48% of all questioned Americans said that it was a mistake to send troops to Iraq and start the war. That is 10% more than in September.[4] Nobody knows when the American troops will return home from Iraq. Bush hopes that the elections next year and the training of Iraqi soldiers will bring stability and security to Iraq and its people. The 9/11 Commission points out that Saddam Hussein did not have connections to Al Qaeda and the Charles Duelfer Report from October says that Saddam did not possess WMD. All those arguments do not convince Bush to stop his aggressive foreign policy and he still continues to defend his reasons for going to war.
