Mutiple Intelligences

...When taking the tests of Howard Gardener’s, I found out things that were really kind of interesting. The first test I my strengths were interpersonal, bodily kinesthetic, and linguistic. The interpersonal and bodily kinesthetic because I enjoy people and I sports, so those two didn’t really surprise me too much, but when the test said that one of my strengths was linguistics that took me by surprise somewhat. In the second test it was the same results and this really made me think about myself and what I have excelled in the past. When taking a second look I’ve always received good scores on standardized test in English and vocabulary, and in school I’ve always received good grades as well. This also made think about what school would have been like if I would have had knowledge of this throughout my whole school career. Would have this affected my grades? Would I have learned easier through a different style of teaching? These questions are things that I really pondered over for about a week and wondered if different styles of teachings would help different students. The answer that I came up with is to a certain extent. Gardner’s theory really gives teachers something to work for to try and have them reach out to all students. His theory really gives teachers a variety of learning strategies that they can incorporate in their teaching style. Adding variety to teachers styles is key to reaching all students.
