At midnight they leave Welton Academy to go to the hole where many years ago the Dead Poets Society were having their meetings. Mr.Keating knows that some of the boys wants to make the Dead Poets Society new and so he gave a book to Neil in which the Dead Poets Society had read out the poems. Neil, Todd, Charlie, Knox, Cameron, Meeks and Pitts are the members of the club. At their meetings they read all sort of poems and they don´t only read them, they lit it drip from their tongues like honey.They are becoming free thinkers. Neil knows what he wants to do, he wants to become an actor. He wants to play in a play but his father won´t have to know it because he never would allow Neil to be an actor. But his father hear about it and he says to Neil that he aren´t allowed to continue playing. Neil goes to Mr.Keating and he tells him about his feeling when he be an actor. It´s his dream and he won´t give it away. And so he plays in the premier although his father didn´t allow him that. But after the show his father comes to him and he takes him home. There he says that at beginning of the next week, Neil has to go to a military school. Neil wants to tell him his feeling and his love to be an actor, but he can´t. He´s too afraid. And so he doesn´t see an other solution and then he shoots himself. He´s death. After his friends and the members of the Dead Poets Society hears it they are very desrtoyed and angry. Everybody knows that he shoot himself because of his father. He never gave him a chance to think on his own. Dean Noel, the director of the school and Mr. Perry, the father from Neil, are giving Mr. Keating the fauls of Neil´s death. The members of the Dead Poets Society have to sign a document which says that Mr. Keating told them to make the Dead Poets Society and that he always told Neil that he should continue playing although his father didn´t allow him to play. If they don´t sign the paper they have to leave the school, but Charlie doesn´t sign the paper and so he has to go. Todd doesn´t want to sign it but he has to. He feels bad because that´s not right what the document says. Mr. Keating has to leave the school but when he comes to the English lesson to get some of his personal things, Todd jumps on his desk, looks at Mr. Keating and says “ O Captain, my Captain!”, and so also some other students jumps on their desk and look to Mr. Keating. Mr. Keating says: “ Thank you, guys” And then he leave the class and the school. Characters: Mr. Keating He´s a teacher, he wants to make free thinkers of his students. He wants to teach them the important things of life. He sees his students as personality and he wants that they make their life extraordinary. He loves a wife but she is in New York, he writes letters to her in which he tells her how much she loves her. He´s the inspiration for the boys. Neil Perry: Neil is a sixteen year old student.
