He describes Harris and Klebold as antichristian fans of the Goth culture, who to honor their so-called head role model Marilyn Manson, murdered their fellow students at Columbine High that sunny spring day in April. In Marilyn Manson’s article The Rolling Stone Magazine he refuses to have any guilt in the violent shootout. He claims using examples from the Old Testament that people’s ability to commit cold-blooded murder came long before our time when there were no books, movies, videogames, or music. He believes that today’s society and its hunger for fame and publicity is to blame for such accidents as the Columbine-Massacre when they for example put killers like Charles Manson on the cover of Time magazine and turn him into a “hero”. Marilyn Manson also arguments for the fact, that none of his songs has ever requested anyone to commit murder, and that he wrote the song “get your Gunn” as a reaction to the murder of Dr. David Gunn who was killed for nothing but doing his job as a doctor of abortion. If the part in Marilyn Manson’s article where he mentions that some of the more reliable journalists have reported that Harris and Klebold were not fans of Marilyn Manson and his music, we must conclude that Manson didn’t have any possible influence on the actions of the two killers. If the sources of William F. Jasper is true you could say that Marilyn Manson and his Get Your Gunn song may have had bit of an influence on the two boys, but probably not much more than in the way they dressed and in their way of speech during the shoot-out. The main reason for the two boys’ action probably lays in their relationship to the school, and to the other students, and whether or not Marilyn Manson had wrote the song the accident would have happened.
