...er. This sense of security children have shields them from the anxiety that is replaced by it when we grow older. In the story Myop knew there were snakes in the woods but she was not afraid or worried about being bitten. As Myop walked further away from where she grew up and where she had gone with her mother, she was unsettled by the unfamiliarity’s of her surroundings. When Myop first saw the remains of the man she was not afraid, but as soon as she saw the noose she laid down her flowers. When she saw the noose it was as if the sense of security she had when she was younger was lost. To Myop, the death of the man was not what took away the simpleness of the morning, but the noose that was around his neck. If Myop had not seen the noose, would she have given up the flowers and her carefree mood? My...
