In the Revolutionary war, it was fought on American grounds. This being so, it was a huge advantage to the Americans. All of their resources were right there at their fingertips. Their sources of supply, and army were already there and didn’t need to be shipped over. The British, however, had to travel three thousand miles to get to the colonies. The Americans were also surrounded by their own people. This also became a large advantage to the Americans as a sense of comfort and the citizens wouldn’t bother them, as they would’ve been if they were fighting in England. In the French and Indian war, many officers tested their strength. As their strength in leadership was noted, the strong leaders were used in the Revolutionary war. George Washington was one of these leaders; he led many strategic victories throughout the course of the war. Thomas Jefferson was also another revolutionary leader. Not necessarily in the battlefield, but for persuading the people for favoring independence. Strong leadership is a big advantage, because they were who organized the strategies in the war, and helped brought the colonies to victory. America needed help in obtaining money for the war they were fighting. They sought out their allies for help. France and Spain were the key allies, supplying the colonies with strong officers, and money. They sent more money than was even asked for.
