...over 85 years. November 24, 2003 Curt Schilling called his agent and told him that he no longer needed his services and that he will make his own choices from now on. The following day on thanksgiving Curt invited Theo Epstein the general manager of the Red Sox to have lunch there. On that day Curt signed the contract and was the newest member of the 2004 Boston Red Sox. Going into spring training Hopes looked high, until we got some bad news that our all-star shortstop Nomar Garciaparra would be out for some time with a torn Achilles. Hopes began to diminutions when this frightening news came about. For now our starting shortstop would be Pokey Reese, would take over the job and do very well filling in for him. Nomar underwent reconstructive surgery to repair his torn Achilles. The Season started off very well, we got off to a very nice start. Even though we lost our opening game to the Baltimore orioles, we still had open, heck it was only our first game of the season. In the first 8 meetings against the Yankees at the beginning of the season we went 7-1 claming our top spot in our division, as rightfully so. The future looked very bright as we got out of April into May. The all of a sudden we went on a 5 game losing-streak, do to this we slipped out of our first place position in our division and lost it to the Yankees. Going into June we were 5 games back of the Yankees for our division. Things weren’t looking good, still no Nomar and the sox went 11-14 in the month of June. In our next 3 meetings against the Yankees in Yankee stadium wasn’t good. We had been swept by them in a 3 game series. With the fans not happy with them at this...
