Indeed, the current organisation comes from the old system of management and has evolved empirically. They does not make it possible to face the current sales, to satisfy the customers and to confirm the public image of the company. The service presenting the most deficiencies is the sales department. Indeed, it is in direct contact with the customers. Its organisation, its management and its resources do not enable it to fill its tasks perfectly. Therefore it seemed crucial to level it to remain competitive on the market. First of all, we’ll present the studied department (sales department). In the second part, we’ll examine the diagnosis of this department in order to suggest some measures likely to improve its organisation. PART I: PRESENTATION OF THE SALES DEPARTMENT. The sales department presents deficiencies under two principal aspects: the human resources and the management engineering. A/human resources: The sales department is in direct relation with the customer. Indeed, once the customer file is set-up by the salesman, it becomes under the responsibility of the sales department. In the last five years, the sales of new vehicles were quintupled, whereas the staff of sales department did not know consequent modifications. Manpower has remained the same one and the organisation too. Human resources working in the sales department for the majority were inherited from the old organisation. They haven’t been improved neither quantitatively nor qualitatively. So the sales department misses cruelly human resources. Current manpower is unqualified.
