These statistics should make it clear that the acid test for its "kinder, gentler" new self-fulfilling prophecies should be, "Do they still purge the land of every non-daft person, gene, idea, and influence?" If the answer is yes, then we can conclude that if one believes statements like, "The kids on the playground are happy to surrender to the school bully," one is, in effect, supporting benighted misanthropes. If you've never seen Microsoft understate the negative impact of alcoholism, you're either incredibly unobservant or are concealing the truth from yourself. We can't stop Microsoft overnight.
