The White house was changed to be an elegant and convenient place for a family to live in. In addition, she made the White House as a museum of American history and beautiful arts. She carefully redid the place so that it symbolized not only the past history of America but also coming age of America. In Jackie’s three years as first lady, her work impressed many people, and influenced them to understand the importance of historic value. After Kennedy’s assassination, Jackie showed her passion for history through effort for preserving and elaborating Kennedy legacy. She rendered great service to build JFK Library and Museum. She thought something needed to retain the memory of John F. Kennedy. She raised a fund for the library, and devoted her time for the design and organization of the library. The library was dedicated to the memory of the president John Fitzgerald Kennedy and his idea – the New Frontier. Kennedy thought that the purpose of politics is pursuing a new and better world. The library values his idea through many researches and activities. Nowadays, many people from the world visit the library, and appreciate political, spiritual heritage which belongs not only to the United States but also to the entire world. She also imposed image of Camelot on the presidency of Kennedy to expand Kennedy legacy as the nation’s heritage. She said that Kennedy often played the title song of the musical Camelot: “…Don’t let it be forgot, that once there was a spot, for one brief shining moment that was known as Camelot…” She said it to journalist Mr. White when she interviewed by him just a week after Kennedy’s assassination.
