... The school principal was violating the student’s free speech and freedom of the press. Since when is stating the facts in a newspaper illegal? That’s what the students at Hazelwood east high school were doing by reporting news and informing other students. All the students did were collect facts, report current events and news of the community to fellow students. The students were as well publishing the speeches in an objective form, not influencing the students to side for or against the news. The young students were just exercising their right of freedom of speech and of press. Through this publication, the confidentiality of the source of their information was respected. No names were reported throughout the speeches. Nor any students were subjected to reasoning. The journalist students acted very professionally and ethically. The students continued to apply their skills learned through journalism. In conclusion, no matter what is being advertised throughout society, whether it is preaching hate or informing people about the news, free...
