They started to settle into permanent villages, bring about the development of new skills and tools. Historian call the drastic change from being nomads to farmers the Neolithic agricultural revolution. They also learned to domesticate, or tame, animals. The animals where herded to good grass then penned in rough enclosures. The Renaissance. The Renaissance, or Rebirth, is also considered a turning point. The Renaissance is thought to be the revival of the letters and arts in Europe, marking the transition from medieval to modern history, it began in Italy in the 14th century and gradually spread to other countries. The period of this revival from the 14th to the 16th century, also, the style of art, literature, etc., was marked by a classical influence, that was developed in and characterized this period. Begun in Italy in the mid-1300s. It was a time of creativity and political, social, economical, and cultural changes. Of the changes the most important was the way people viewed themselves and their world. It was started by a revived curiosity in classical learning. It produced new attitudes toward culture and learning. Unlike the medieval scholars, renaissance scholars focused on “the here and now” other then “life after death”. It was a time of individual achievement. The Protestant Reformation. In addition to the others the Protestant Reformation is considered a turning point. The Protestant Reformation is thought to be a religious movement of the 16th century that began as an attempt to reform the Roman Catholic Church and resulted in the creation of Protestant churches.
