If a car jack is used also use jack stands or blocks to prevent the jack from kicking out. Place a container under the oil pan and remove the drain plug. Place the filter into the filter pipe coming out of the engine and hand tighten, then take the filter wrench and turn an additional quarter turn to ensure that it is properly sealed against the engine. After the old components are entirely removed from the engine all that remains is to add the needed amount of unused oil into the engine. This process is simple and requires only that the OIL FILL cap is removed and the oil poured in to the desired level.
