Traditionally, most pharmacists work in a community setting, such as a retail drugstore, or in a healthcare facility, such as a hospital, nursing home, mental health institution, or neighborhood health clinic. Other place where pharmacists can be employed include HMO’s, clinics and consultants in the ER. In order to obtain the career of my choose I will need to take several classes that will require having my high school graduation. The courses will include Pre-Pharmacy, and Pharmacy College Admissions Test. You will also need to have graduated with a Doctors of Pharmacy degree from an accredited college of pharmacy, serve an internship under a licensed pharmacist and pass a State examination and passing the State examination will enable you to obtain a license to practice. I will also need to Submit Application Form and Supplementary Materials, which includes an essay, letters of recommendation, transcripts and test scores. And some schools require a face-to-face interview before admission. Other requirements of being a pharmacist include dispense drugs prescribed by physicians and other health practitioners, educating and informing consumers bout the use and possible effects of medication they are taking, advise physicians and other health practitioners on the selection, dosages, interactions and effects of medications, maintain confidential records of patients' medications to ensure their safe...
