A Yellow Raft in Blue water journal

...oying reading this book and I am curious to find out what is going to happen to Rayona, and I am curious to see if her mother will come back for her daughter. I knew that Father Tom was not good. I knew that something bad was going to happen. He’s an adult, and should know better. Gross, he could be her father, that’s just so wrong on so many levels. And then he tries to shoo her away, so he can burry his own conscience and not have to deal with it. I am glad that Rayona has a job and that Evelyn and Sky are so nice to her, but I really feel like she should go back to Aunt Ida’s house, because Ida is her family. I don’t think she should want to run away when she still has Aunt Ida. It is good that Rayona tells Evelyn everything because she is a nice woman, who deserves to know the truth. That’s kind of sad, because there are many girls like that. It is unfortunate that Christine doesn’t get along well with aunt Ida, and moves away from her. It is sad that Christine got herself into such an unstable relationship with Elgin. I mean, it’s sad that he just can be there for her. At least she got one good thing out of it, her daughter Rayona. I just don’t understand why she keeps letting Elgin come back into her life. If I were her I would just tell him to take a hike. But she does seem to have one stable thing in her life, Rayona. Oh my gosh, now I get it. At first when you see how Christine left her child with Aunt Ida you just think how selfish she is, but all she was really trying to do is protect her child. I do think it would have been better if she would have told Rayona the truth, and then Rayona wouldn’t have had to go through the things she went through, but she was just trying to protect her child. I am happy with the ending of this sect...
