I think that it also discourages students to do their best and to learn the most they can. When there are students who are not trying their hardest, it is very hard to tell how they are improving. If I were a teacher, I would want my students to improve and excel in their work. By using the pass or fail grade system, you can only tell if they pass or fail your class. As a teacher, you will not be able to keep track of your student’s success throughout each term or semester. They would also not be able to show you their success. When a teacher doesn’t know how much students are improving, there is no way to reward the students who try their very best. Some people may say that the pass or fail grading system does not affect the students who try their very best but it does because they do not receive the rewards or praise they deserve. Also other students cannot look up to their peers who have better grades than they do.
