...tanding. It also developed my creative and imaginative skills as I was set a task to devise a range of activities and games for the children. More recently, working part time as a waitress ensured that I was able to work co-operatively as part of a team with a variety of different people. I also had to work independently which required me to use my own initiative. Such skills I believe will prove extremely useful on my photography degree course and within University life. Furthermore, being elected as a member of the pupil council provided me with the opportunity to represent my peers in a responsible manner. I broadened my communication skills by speaking and listening in a large group. (This experience should enable me to communicate effectively in an academic environment whilst at University.) Also as a member of the choir, I have been involved in a number of school productions including ‘Grease’ which I found extremely rewarding as it improved my self-confidence considerably. I have been a member of the school choir since first year and have taken part in the annual musical and vocal shows where I also assisted with the artwork used in the sets. One of my great passions is music. It is a very influential part of my life and I enjoy a wide range of music and have attended many concerts including Idlewild and The Thrills. My dream is to combine my two passions, photography and music into a career. I also love cinema and watch everything from art house to horror.
