Comparison of tommy boy and the underground man

...ause they really liked this man and he always listened to them and did what he could to help them out. Next, I watched the movie “Tommy Boy”. This movie is about a boy who finally finishes college and comes back to work for his dad’s major company. When he comes back, he announces that he’s engaged to a beautiful woman. After Tommy meets her, she tells him that he’s going to have a new brother. At his dad’s and new mom’s wedding celebration, his dad dies from a heart attack. All the companies that bought his brake pads, the item that his company sold, do not want to buy from the company anymore now that big Tom, Tommy’s dad, is dead. Tommy has to go on the road and sell half of a million brake pads to save the company. He is paired up with the one person at the company who doesn’t like him, his dad’s right hand man, Richard. This is proved when he makes fun of him constantly. For example when he says, “I don’t think anyone can help out baby hewy here”, “I can actually hear you getting fatter” and “the normal person uses ten percent of his or her brain. How much do you use? You only use one and a half percent of your brain. The rest is filled with malted hops and bong resin”. He later finds out that his new mom and his brother are con artists and are married. They just married his dad for his money and they only got shares. So for them to make money the company has to be sold. In the book I read and the movie I watched, the main character is different from the rest of the society. In “The Underground Man” My grace is mentally handicapped and makes obvious observations. Although he is just really starting to notice things he is a good guy who listens to everyone and he writes his observations down in his journal. He has no other family members that are alive. Some of his employees don’t understand why he does the things he does. Also in “Tommy Boy”, Tommy isn’t the smartest person in the world. His partying at college and many times smoking marijuana and doing other drugs has turned his brain into mush. He doesn’t know very much about the business world (clip 1 scene 9..35:30-36:30). But when he sets his mind to something he can do anything (clip 2 scene 16… 56:30-57:40). Also in “The Underground Man” and “Tommy Boy”, everyone likes the main character. In “The Underground Man” all his employees like him and hang around with him. My Grace is a man who listened and helped his employees out with their job and their problems in their life. He was. a good boss and a good friend. In “Tommy Boy” all of his dad’s employees like him (clip #3 scene 29:45-10:30)...
