The alcohol industry is a cutthroat environment that requires companies within the industry to maintain a significant competitive advantage over their competition. There are a large number of companies in the industry, but there are only a few, such as Anheuser Busch Incorporated, that control the majority of the market share. This increases the need for companies to maintain an advantage, to stay afloat. Competitive advantages in the industry include anything that gives an edge to one company over another. Technology helps to generate these competitive advantages and increase competition between alcohol companies through technological innovations, computer software designed to enhance efficiency within a particular company, and advertising.
