...ws in many countries. The gathering of religious meetings at churches and temples spawned togetherness and allowed for people to find commonality within their dwellings. At the time organized religion was established, the world was in a pitfall. “The need for acceptance makes meaningful images of God as a savior, while its opposite inspires the concept of original sin, according to Reiss. The need to eat motives some people to value abstinence and others to value sustenance.” I enjoy this quote by Jeff Grabmier because it explains somewhat that God can be viewed as this idea of a giant social concept that has be actualized to provide some sort of tangible reason for an emotion. The famous quote, “there are no atheists in foxholes” easily proves this simple idea. At a feeling of death, a person can become overwhelm and need to comfort the feeling or anxiety of being alone or not understanding the concept of dying. If projection and the displacement of anger or emotions is the minds ability to cope with anxiety, then perhaps religion was created as the minds inability to conceptualize birth and death.
