...ring of mothers and fathers who abused some kind of drug during the time of conception and pregnancy. It may have been Alcohol, Tobacco, Marijuana, Cocaine, or GHB. There were many other kinds of drugs abused during this time also. We have no way of knowing how much been abused and what effect it will have on the unborn child. We have no studies to show the long-term effects. The bottom line is we still don't know it all about drugs, and their long lasting effect on people. I think that if you look at the backgrounds of some of these children that are involved in violence you will find, if they will tell the truth, that the parents did abuse some kind of legal or illegal drug before, after, or during the time the child was carried in the womb. I believe this is the common denominator between all these acts of violence. It is very difficult in today's society to find someone who hasn't abused some form of drugs in their life. This abuse doesn't follow any religion, race, or economic structure. Many people who are married don't even know about what the other person has abused before they met. Scientists have little data on what these drugs do to each person. We have no idea how our genetic codes have been disrupted but they are being damaged. All the public social agencies will tell you that drug abuse by parents is of epidemic proportions now and that the children are the largest problem that we have.
